losing it.....again

i've got about 30 pounds that i'd love to give the finger so i've decided to set myself up a plan of success.  see, i'm a rebel.  i don't like authority or rules - unless they make sense.

instead of some "diet" i'm just going to make healthy choices, eat healthy food and work out.  i mean, it's a simple process really.  i tend to overcomplicate it and get frustrated before i even begin.

i'm also going to give myself rewards as i achieve different milestones.  rewards like mani/pedis, a new pair of wedges or a sundress.  nothing food or drink related, of course.

with any luck, by my 35th birthday this september, i'll be able to "move that bus" and show off my new rockin' hot mama body.

my first reward milestone is april 17th - my next hair appointment.  i plan to be down 9 pounds by then or i've told my hair stylist that she is not allowed to do my hair.  i pay for this blonde - not getting my roots done on time is painful so i'm incented.

to start my journey, i've decided to do a 3-day detox cleanse.  while i try to eat healthy on a regular basis, i haven't been very good at it.  (please see the first line in this post.)

as i was pinning recipes and exercises on pinterest last week, i stumbled upon this post.  i'm intrigued by it and think it could be a really great way to get rid of some water weight while cleansing out some toxins.

anyone care to join me?  comment below this post if you're interested!  i plan to document the next few months by sharing recipes, exercises, rants, raves, bitches, moans, etc.  be sure to subscribe via email or with feedly to stay up to date.  links are in the right sidebar.  ------>

to get started with the cleanse this week, i put together a shopping list.  click here to download it.  NOTE:  mr. mac is going to do it with me so my shopping list is an approximation for the 2 of us.  also note, if you are using this shopping list, some of the recipes call for "a handful" of this or that.  i included that as a unit of measurement in the shopping list so i'll just be buying what i guess will be enough.

what i like about this cleanse is that it uses the natural power of healthy foods to clean your system out and detoxify your organs.  plus, it's a lot of my favorites (cucumber & ginger...YUMM!)  and it doesn't use a lot of weird ingredients that you have to order online.  these foods are things we can get just about anywhere.  (chia seeds can be found at your local health food store. you might can even find them in your grocery store - bob's red mill carries a line of them.)

thanks for coming along for the ride.  i can use the moral support and atta girls!  xo

and if you're going to join me on the cleanse, be sure to comment below so we can cheer each other on!

UPDATE :: Printing from the Hungry For Change link doesn't look so good so I copied, pasted and reformatted it into a downloadable PDF.  Click here to save and print.

    1. Lola, I think you're right. I'm hoping that the zing of the ginger/lemon drink at wake up time as well as the energy boost from the green smoothie will help me snap out of the zombie like state I'm usually in first thing in the morning. This blog can also be a place where we addicts can talk about our coffee withdrawals! :) So glad to have you on board with us!
