i'm katie.

i eat lots of bacon, love to snuggle with my babies and am married to my best friend.

in no particular order, my favorite things include (but are not limited to) college football (go Dawgs!), atlanta braves baseball, concerts, traveling, social media, craft beer, candy crush saga, cooking, dancing and justin timberlake.

in may of 2011, after deciding to become a stay-at-home mom with my 6 year old son and newborn daughter, i started my first business on etsy.  bugaroo was the first of my creative endeavors and has taught me so much about myself.  as a result of this business, i have met and networked with some of the most amazing people!

a couple of months ago, my husband and i put our creatively nerdy minds together to start our second etsy shop, stylish geekerie.  all of our items are handmade and showcase our love for all things geeky & retro.  while bugaroo focuses on products for little ones, stylish geekerie offers home decor & accessories for the grown-up nerd enthusiast.

in 2003, right around the time my son was born, i was introduced to social media when an out-of-state friend recommended we keep in touch on friendster.  i was in love from the start.  since then i've become a self-proclaimed social media maven.  using it as a way to connect, expand my business and keep in touch with family & friends i don't get to see too often.  i've participated in numerous webinars and learning sessions so that i can utilize this awesome marketing tool to it's fullest potential.

my business background is in digital marketing, advertising and content development.  i have spent the last 15 years freelancing as a production coordinator and associate producer on various websites including big companies like the home depot and ibm.

outside of all of this i'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, a wife.

this blog is my way of bringing all of my worlds together.  here i will discuss everything from modge podge to potty training.  from working out to branding & social media marketing.  i hope you'll follow along.  if i'm able to help even one person, it's icing on the cake for me.
